“In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s mind there are few.” – Shunryu Suzuki-Roshi, Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind.
One of the most exciting aspects of starting a new project are the possibilities of what may come. This is a great joy that comes with creativity, inspiration and expression. The result is the reward for our hard work and perseverance.
It’s important, however, to remember the images in our minds eye are images and not real life. We cannot become too attached to these thoughts, ideas and possibilities. The excitement is important in the creative process; it is fuel for the fire. Still, big or small, solo or collaborative, we as individuals are not the only participants in creation.
